What brands of machines does Highline Office Technology sell?

Highline are authorised Olivetti and Epson dealers.

What are Highline Office Technology’s response times?

Our Service Engineers aim to be with our customers in 4 hours or less from whenever a service call is logged.  If you are an existing Highline customer, please email service@highline.ie with your issue.

What is preventative maintenance?

Highline operates a preventative maintenance policy.  Parts will be changed out before they run out or breakdown, thereby ensuring no downtime to your business.  Once a part is broken or a technical difficulty arises, it’s harder to fix the machine, so we work a policy of keeping all machines in good working order.

What finance options are available to me for purchasing or renting my printer or photocopier?

The options are short-term rental, long-term rental, operating lease and purchase.  You can check out some more details on this on our blog.

I have an issue with the scanning function on my machine. Can you help with this?

Call our office on 01 4097034 or email service@highline.ie and we’ll call you to assess whether it’s an error with the machine or an IT error.  If we feel it’s IT related, we’ll get the contact details of your IT provider and connect with them directly to troubleshoot the problem, thereby easing the pain for your business and ensuring that the problem is quickly fixed.

What are the best-selling machines?

Currently, our best-selling Olivetti machines are the MF223, MF254, MF454 – all colour copiers.  In the mono range, it’s the 5000MF.

What is a badge number?

Each machine that Highline Office Technology installs will have a sticker placed on the front of the machine with our contact details on it.  It will also have a unique HL number on it, to help us identify your machine.  If you ring our office with an issue, the first thing that we will ask you, is for the HL or badge number, so that we can trace what machine it is, in order to expedite getting a solution for whatever problem is at hand.

Your office is based in Dublin. Do you offer a nationwide service?

What is a Managed Print Service?

If your company takes a Service Level Agreement with Highline Office Technology, your business automatically has managed print service (MPS).  For a monthly fixed cost, callouts, toners, consumables and labour are all covered when any issues arise with your photocopier, scanner or printer.

Does my business need to avail of a Managed Print Service?

Our rule of thumb is, if you are spending more than €40 a month on toner, or if your business has more than two printers, then it’s certainly something we’d recommend.  Our aim in Highline Office Technology is to ensure that your business has no downtime and that you can go about your core business and leave us to worry about keeping your printers, photocopiers or MFDs working efficiently.

What is an MFD?

An MFD is a Multi-Functional Device, i.e. an-in-one printer, scanner and photocopier that has email and fax functionality.

What sizes can an MFD be bought in? 

They can be purchased in A0, A1, A2, A3 and A4.

Does Highline Office Technology offer a warranty on its machines?

Yes, Highline offer a 5-year warranty on all machines where a full-Service Level Agreement is in place.

We are a #StartUp business.  We are finding it hard to get credit to allow us to rent new machines as we don’t have credit history yet.  Can Highline Office Technology help us?

What is all-you-can-eat print?

Highline Office Technology will carry out a print audit to determine the current levels of printing in your business and then apply a fair usage policy to your service agreement.

I have a paper jam that I can’t resolve.  Who do I contact?

You can ring us on 01 4097034 or email service@highline.ie.  The Service Engineers will be in touch to try to help your problem over the phone or make an appointment to visit you in person to rectify the problem.

 I have run out of toner. Who do I contact?

Please ring us on 01 4097034 or email orders@highline.ie.  We operate a next day despatch system on all toners.

 I have a query about my monthly invoice. Who do I contact?

What do the letters CMYK stand for?

The toner bottles for your printer or photocopier are each marked with a letter, C, M, Y or K to denote the colour.  C is for Cyan, M is for Magenta, Y is for Yellow and K is for Black.

What is cloud printing?

It’s now possible to access online services such as Dropbox, Google Docs etc from your photocopier and printer, so it’s not necessary to have your computer with you so that you can print your documents by accessing your cloud services directly. Nifty eh?!

How often should my business replace a printer or photocopier?

We’d recommend changing out machinery every 5 years or so.  Technology is moving at a fast pace, so it’s important to keep abreast and integrate new functionalities into your business to ensure it’s effective.

How often is the technology on new machines replaced?

The manufacturers tend to upgrade the technology every three years or so, but again our rule of thumb for changing machines is the 5-year mark.  This is subject to usage and how well the machine is maintained. Obviously, if it’s a Highline Office Technology maintained machine, then it’ll be impeccably managed!

What is PaperCut?

PaperCut is a piece of technology that provides a complete cost recovery model, making it easy for you to ensure every print job is billed to the appropriate client or cost centre.  It helps enhance security, reduce waste and save money. I’m based in Belfast and need a new machine. Do you operate in Northern Ireland?

Sustainability is a growing concern with our business.  Are there particular photocopiers, printers or scanners (MFDs) that are more eco-friendly than others?

All Olivetti machines are made from 70% recycled materials, so that’s a good start. Olivetti also have a zero to landfill policy, as do Highline Office Technology, so we will always make a concerted effort to either repurpose or recycle the machines.  You might also want to consider installing PaperCut into your arsenal. What happens to my photocopier or printer when it finally dies?

At Highline Office Technology we have a zero to landfill policy.  We look to repurpose the machine or send it for recycling. With some of our clients, we are currently working on a replacement strategy and we are repurposing all the older machines and getting them ready for new homes in some of the local schools, thereby ensuring no waste!

Where are your offices based?

We are based in the Western Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Knockmitten Close in Dublin 12.  It’s a handy location, just off the Naas Road.  We have free parking and great coffee for our visitors.

Do you organise machine demonstrations?

Yes, we do. This can be organised on site in our offices or we can put a machine in on trial into your business and one of our Service Engineers will take you through the functionalities and apps to ensure you can optimise your experience with the new machine.

What is a consumable?

A consumable is any part or toner that is needed for a machine.

What paper is recommended for photocopiers or printers?

We would always recommend a good quality paper, but certainly nothing less than 80GSM.  Anything lighter and the machine might jam, but dust can also play havoc with your photocopier or printer.

How much paper can I put in each drawer?

Drawers are made to fit a full ream of paper, so the full 500 sheets.
