Apple’s Newest Releases 2017
Apple has unveiled it’s latest releases, including the new iPad and the iPhone 7 Red.
The new model iPad is simply being called, iPad. It has a 9.7 inch screen with a brighter display and a faster processor. The iPad has a generous retail price of $450. This is considerably cheaper than older versions, making it more desirable to customers.
Not only has Apple released the new iPad, they have also introduced the iPhone 7 (PRODUCT) RED. This special edition iPhone 7 will contribute directly to The Global Fund to fight AIDS.
Apple have been partnering with The Global Fund for 10 years. They have been supporting programmes that have been providing counselling, testing and medicine that prevents the transmission of HIV from a mother to her unborn child. So far Apple have donated $130 million through the sale of their RED products to The Global Fund.
The Global Fund is an organisation that donates 100% of its money to finance HIV/AIDS programmes. The contribution helps people affected by HIV in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia.
2015 was a big year for digital marketing, I’m sure you’ve noticed the longer Youtube adverts, the increase in those annoying pop-ups and of course those never ending voice ads that seem to come out of nowhere, making you close down every single tab you have ever opened in the hopes of stopping the automated voice promising you that you could earn $100 an hour by clicking on some dodgy link that will most likely download numerous viruses to your computer.
The reason for this influx is due to the constant rise of technology usage, marketers are well aware that the internet is the future, so the only real way of exposing customers to their brand is by forcing them to watch their advertisements on every side bar and video they can get their hands on. It is true that users are becoming more understanding of video ads, as we have accepted that they are inevitable and its best not to fight them. Due to this ‘acceptance’ the ads just seem to be getting longer and longer, which in hindsight is a small price to pay for having any tv show or movie imaginable at our fingertips.
The fact that most of the advertisements we are exposed to have been hand picked and personalised for us is both amazing and terrifying, you may find yourself questioning “how does Youtube know I was looking for a new apartment?” or “Wow this is so weird that Youtube is showing an advertisement for a new laptop when I was only thinking of buying one the other day?”.. Well sorry to be the barer of bad news, but essentially the internet stalks you, finds out what you like, and then presents it to you in a personalised digital advertisement! Youtube are not the only ones to do this, Facebook have recently jumped on the band wagon and pretty soon its going to be happening everywhere.
This form of marketing has become very popular since the start of 2015 so who knows what 2016 will bring, personally I cant imagine how much more technologically advanced we can get, but then again, less than 10 years ago who would have believed you if you told them that almost everyone in the world would own a mobile device with a touch screen, 12MP camera, access to the internet and unlimited apps for adding filters to your selfies or pictures of your pet?
